Financial Assistance Scheme

List of Assistance Schemes

MOE Financial Assistance Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Meet either one of the following criteria
    1. Gross Monthly Household Income not exceeding $2500
    2. Per Capital Household Income (PCI) not exceeding $625*

*PCI is gross monthly household income divided by number of members in the household.

Benefits:

  • Full waiver of school fees
  • Full waiver of standard miscellaneous fees
  • Free textbooks and uniform
  • 75% subsidy of national exam (100% subsidy for pupils under MCYS’ Public Assistance Scheme)

Application Procedures:

  • Approach form teachers for forms
  • Documents needed:
    1. IC/Birth Certificate of parents/siblings
    2. Proof of income of all working members in the family
    3. Documentary proof of divorce, death, disability, etc
    4. Proof of address for other relatives (eg. grandfather, uncle, aunt etc) if living in same household. Please photocopy their NRICs
  • Applications can be submitted to the HOD (PCCG)

Registration Period:

  • Jan 2013
  • When there is a sudden change in family situation
  • Nov 2013 for those applying for assistance in 2014

School Advisory Committee (SAC) Bursary

Eligibility:

Gross Household Income (GHI) not exceeding $3,000

OR

Per Capital Income (PCI) not exceeding $750

Benefits:

  • Full waiver of $5.00 school fees per month
  • Full waiver of $10.00 first tier miscellaneous fees per month
  • Free textbooks
  • Free school attire for Sec 1 and Sec 3 pupils
  • Free YearBook

*Pupils under SAC will have to apply for Exams Fees if they need assistance with the Exams fees for N and O Level. For successful pupils, the school will give them 100% subsidy for their exams fees.

Application Procedures:

  • Approach form teachers for forms
  • Documents needed:
    1. IC/Birth Certificate of parents/siblings
    2. Proof of income of all working members in the family
    3. Documentary proof of divorce, death, disability, etc
  • Applications can be submitted to the HOD (PCCG)

School Pocket Money

Eligibility:

  • Pupils who are under a financial assistance scheme
  • Family income is not enough to provide for the pupil’s daily transport and food

Benefits:

$2 food or stationary voucher per day

Application Procedures:

  • Approach form teachers for forms
  • Applications can be submitted to the HOD (PCCG)

Registration Period:

  • When the pupil apply for MOE or SAC financial assistance
  • When there is a sudden change in family situation

Opportunity Fund

Eligibility:

  • Singapore Citizens
  • Must be eligible and have applied for the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme

Benefits:

  • Subsidy of 80% of the total cost of programmes in the following areas:
    1. Purchase of PCs
    2. Enrichment programmes relating to personal and social effectiveness
  • Study trips

Application Procedures:

  • Approach form teacher or relevant teacher organizing the activity

Registration Period:

Jan to Oct 2013 (depending on when the activity is conducted

Compassion Fund

Eligibility:

  • Students who are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents
  • Students or family members who are in any of the following crises:
    1. Death of a breadwinner
    2. Accidents
  • Major illnesses

Benefits:

Based on assessment through home visits by the Foundation

Application Procedures:

Approach form teacher or HOD (PCCG)

Registration Period:

When there is a sudden change in family situation

EyeWear @ South West
(Launched in 2007)

Eligibility:

  • Family of needy student resides in South West district
  • Total household income is $2,500 or less
  • Singapore citizen or at least one immediate family member is a Singapore citizen

Benefits:

  • Fully subsidised spectacles to students from needy families.
  • Under this scheme, students may receive eyewear vouchers to redeem for complimentary customised spectacles from the three participating retail outlets – The Spectacle Hut, Optical 88 and Nanyang Optical.

Application Procedures:

Eligible parents of student to visit their nearest Meet-the-People Sessions (MPS) to receive the eyewear vouchers for their children.

* A supporting letter may be obtained from the school's General Office to bring to the MPS.

Registration Period:

As and when necessary, during Meet-the-People Sessions for their constituency.
