The PE programme at the secondary level is structured around three key learning areas. These areas guide the design of learning experiences to achieve the goals of Physical Education and prepare students for the next phase of the programme.
Physical Activities
At DSS, we use the Sports Education Model to make PE and CCA more meaningful. In your time here, you’ll experience individual, dual, and team sports — not just as players, but also as team managers, coaches, referees, and event organizers. It’s a holistic way to learn the game, build character, and develop real teamwork and leadership skills. The sports you will experience include:

Outdoor education
We integrate Outdoor Education into the PE curriculum prior to the Sec 1 and Sec 3 outdoor adventure learning camps to prepare our students. This provides them with exposure to key camp skills and what to expect, including activities like navigation, outdoor cooking, and knot-tying.

Physical Health and Safety
You will learn Personal Health & Safety throughout all 4 years. For Physical Fitness, you will learn to stay active and healthy and be assessed through NAPFA in Sec 2 and Sec 4. In Nutrition, it is about choosing correctly and eating well for performance and health. Personal Hygiene and Self-Care, which is about taking care of yourself.
