Edusave Character Award (ECHA) in Dunearn Secondary School
Introduction
In 2012, MOE introduced the Edusave Character Award (ECHA) to recognise students who have exemplary values so as to encourage character development.
Each ECHA awardee will receive a certificate and an award voucher of $500.
Objectives
(a) To send a clear and strong signal of the importance that MOE places on character and values, on par with achievements in the academic domain.
(b) To recognise outstanding students who are exemplary in character, and who can be role models to inspire others.
Nomination and Selection Process
The selection process is managed in stages and involved representatives of different groups of key stakeholders to provide a wide range of perspectives and to enhance its robustness. The main stages of the selection process include nomination, shortlisting and endorsement.
The nominations for ECHA 2024 are open to our school key stakeholders such as parents, alumni, partners, as well as members of the public, from 8th July 2024 (Mon) to 19th July 2024 (Friday), 3pm.

Please note the following eligibility criteria for nominees:
Eligibility Criteria
1. The nominee is a Singapore citizen.
2. The nominee is a role model in his/her conduct (behaviours and actions) and attitude.
3. The nominee has demonstrated clearly aspects of the school values (R3ICH):
· Respect,
· Responsibility,
· Resilience,
· Integrity,
· Care, and/or
· Harmony
Please email the completed nomination form(s) to dunearn_ss@moe.edu.sg by 19th July 2024 (Thu), 3pm. Any forms received after the nomination deadline will not be accepted.
