About Us
Dunearn Secondary School Concert Band, founded in 1966, is a vibrant and dedicated team of young musicians who demonstrate passion and self-discipline in the learning of music.
Under the inspiring leadership of our band director band instructors, our band has grown in skill and unity, showcasing their passion for music through numerous performances.
The band aims to inspire and entertain audiences with their dynamic performances, while fostering a lifelong love for music among its members.
CCA Objectives
· To cultivate a culture of sportsmanship and fellowship among band members, emphasizing the importance of mutual support and respect. Encourage students to take pride in representing the school and to celebrate achievements together, fostering a sense of belonging.
· To instill a strong sense of moral integrity among band members by promoting ethical behavior, honesty, and accountability. Encourage students to uphold these values in all aspects of their lives, both in rehearsals and in their interactions with peers and the community.
· To recognise and celebrate both individual and collective achievements, fostering a culture of reflection and appreciation for progress. Encourage members to set personal and group goals, and highlight the journey of growth as a vital part of their musical and personal development
· To provide platform for members to learn core values, social and emotional competencies and the emerging 21st Century Competencies
