CCA Objectives

Scouting in Singapore aims to contribute to the education of young people, especially in developing:

• Character values such as Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Integrity, Care and Harmony

• Social and cross-cultural skills such as the ability to socialise and harmonise in teams and groups that are cross-cultural and global in nature

• Beliefs and awareness of the environmental constraints of living on this planet, respect for nature and ruggedness in the outdoors

The following enablers drive the achievement of these objectives:

• The patrol system

• Core scouting activities (Camping, Outdoor Exploration / Expedition, Knotting & Pioneering, Outdoor Cooking)

• Frank Cooper Sands Award (2013 - 2020) – GOLD

• National Patrol Camp 2018 – SILVER

• Chief Commissioner’s Award (pinnacle award for individual scouts) – 2020, 2021 and 2024)

• Frack Cooper Sands Award (2022) - GOLD

• Frank Cooper Sands Award (2023) in West Zone

      With effect from 2023, ranking of Frank Cooper Awards is abolished.
